May Brings Flooding In Louisiana

Recent rainstorms have caused some major flooding for several neighborhoods on the Northshore. More than 13 inches of rain fell in Tangipahoa Parish and St Tammany Parish, due to rising rivers and creeks overflowing.

The Bedico area showed severe signs of distress, leaving many homeowners with a foot of water in their homes. Today homeowners in Bedico Creek are assessing the damage left by the flood and thunderstorms. Tossing out soiled furniture and carpet is on the agenda for many.

Homeowners should take note of all damage and get in touch with the appropriate businesses and contractors as soon as possible. Don’t forget about the damage that can’t be seen. It may prove useful to call an insulation contractor because your home’s insulation could be compromised.

Heavy rain is expected in Louisiana, especially during the summer season. It’s important to be prepared and ask for help when you need it. Remember that there are many resources at your disposal, such as hotlines and shelters.
